  18. Just received my Pom Maker yesterday and much to my sorrow the one that I received was small. Nowhere on the order form did it give the choice of size. This cost me 32.00 Canadian and to return it will cost me almost half that cost. I realize that I should have found out about sizes but I didn’t. Could you please make it clear about different sizes for people who order. With more information it would have saved me this cost.

    • Hi Thelma
Sorry about that, we have 3 different sizes and although the size information is on each product page, it probably needs to be more prominent, we’ll improve it!
You can make many fun pompoms with the large size maker too – we’ll make tutorials for them in the future.

  19. Hi, I stumbled upon one of your tutorials on youtube and became fascinated. I would like to make some but I don’t know what to buy. Do you have a specific started kit? I saw you have several types of pompom makers and that got me confused… Do the maraccon pompom maker work the same as the doughnut one? BTW my son wanted to know if you have a tutorial for a hedgehog pompom…

    Isha.

    • Hi Isha
Thank you! We have three sizes – Bow (Large), Donut (Medium), Macaron (Small), each product page has size information. Donut (Medium) maker is most suitable for animal pompoms.
For yarns, please see our yarn selection (Essentials Soft Merino Aran range is used for most animal pompoms): https://pommaker.com/category/yarn/
On individual tutorial page, there’s a section called ‘What you need’ listing all the correct pom maker and yarns you need for each design.
      Have fun!

  24. How can I make a pom pom marmota? I’m so eager to start. Also, a great thing would be a robin or some other cute bird. If You can, please send me any help. Thank you so much!!

  25. Do you have a video for a fox pom?

  26. I love your pom pom makers SO much! I have all three sizes and have given one as a gift. Both orders have arrived here in California within two days without any expedited shipping. One thing I’ve been wishing is a single page on your site with a brain dump of all of the tips and techniques for making your pom poms. For instance, I bought your little black scissors but have managed to dull them already. And that could be because I was given some acrylic yarn to practice on and maybe that’s harder on scissors than wool? You show a Fiskars scissor in your youtube tutorials, would you post somewhere which Fiskars it is, please (they have so many kinds — which is the best for yarn)? The other thing I realized while practicing on acrylic yarn is that the felting needle doesn’t work particularly well on it, but it works great when I used the wool yarn I bought from you — so maybe you could mention in a tips and techniques section why you sell wool yarn on your site, rather than acrylic. The other thing I find with acrylic (at least practice-quality acrylic) is the ends of the yarn will fluff out, depending on the brand, which makes pom poms look less well defined. And, of course, acrylic isn’t so great for the environment. ;-) One other question: after I cut and tie a pom pom, before freeing it from the pom pom maker, I trim the pom pom using the wooden edge of the pom pom maker as a guide. My pom poms turn out really even that way — is that how you intend it to be used? And lastly, I’ve found that if I didn’t wind enough black yarn for an eye, for example, once my pom pom is fluffed, and using a long doll-making needle, I can thread more yarn into the sparse area to add more of the missing color. Then trim, as usual. Thank you again for such a great product. I keep telling everyone that your packaging is the iPhone experience; and the little canvas bag can be stuffed into your purse with everything you’ll need (but the yarn).

  27. Super cute! I have a few questions; Have you tried to wash them? do they hold the shape? I will like to put it in a hat for my little girl but as you know it will have to be washed eventually. Thanks for any tips.
